Dakota Dunes Resort is seeking a Night Auditor to ensure the smooth operation of overnight hours, delivering exceptional guest service and completing nightly financial and audit processes with accuracy and integrity.

The Night Auditor serves as the primary overnight contact for guests while supporting the Resort’s commitment to service excellence and security, all while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in a resort environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary in Hospitality or Accounting is an asset.
  • Minimum 1–2 years in hospitality or front desk operations preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with OPERA hotel management system and Microsoft Office is an asset.
  • Strong communication and guest-focused interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented during overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous front desk service during overnight hours, including guest check-ins and check-outs.
  • Complete all night audit procedures in accordance with Dakota Dunes Resort standards.
  • Reconcile daily financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and internal control compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute daily occupancy, revenue, and F&B summaries.
  • Secure funds and financial documentation per Resort policies.
  • Monitor the premises for guest, staff, and property safety.
  • Respond to guest concerns and requests to ensure a positive experience.
  • Maintain knowledge of Resort amenities to assist guests effectively.
  • Balance all charges and run end-of-day audit processes.
  • Support administrative duties such as reports and reservation updates.

Job description

The Night Auditor plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of Dakota Dunes Resort during overnight hours. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining a safe and secure environment, and completing all nightly financial and audit processes with accuracy and integrity. The Night Auditor acts as the primary point of contact for guests overnight while supporting the Resort’s commitment to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and courteous front desk service during overnight hours, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and handling inquiries.
  • Complete all night audit procedures in accordance with Dakota Dunes Resort standards, policies, and operating systems.
  • Reconcile daily financial transactions, including cash, credit, and debit, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports, including occupancy, revenue, and food & beverage summaries.
  • Secure all funds and financial documentation in accordance with Resort policies.
  • Monitor the Resort premises to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and property.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to guest concerns, complaints, and requests, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Resort amenities, services, and promotions to actively assist and engage guests.
  • Ensure the efficient and organized operation of the Front Desk and lobby area during overnight hours.
  • Post and balance all charges accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete nightly food and beverage reporting requirements.
  • Run end-of-day audit processes and ensure all systems are balanced and finalized.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as reports, internal communications, and reservation updates.
  • Maintain lobby presentation, including restocking the lobby market and refreshing guest coffee and tea stations.
  • Follow all health, safety, fire, and emergency procedures in alignment with Resort policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Front Desk Supervisor, Duty Manager, or General Manager.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Hospitality or Accounting is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hospitality or front desk operations preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with hotel management systems (e.g., "OPERA") and Microsoft Office is an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-focused approach.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution‑oriented in high‑pressure situations.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision during overnight shifts.
  • High level of integrity and accountability, particularly when handling financial transactions.
  • Professional appearance in accordance with Dakota Dunes Resort dress code (all-black attire).
  • Flexible availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions

Visa Requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
