Job summary

T&T Supermarket Inc. is seeking a Bakery Production Supervisor to support the Pastry Chef and lead Bakery Production Assistants in producing bread, cakes and pastries. You will oversee quality, inventory, scheduling and safety in the production area.

Responsibilities include training staff, managing shifts, and participating in new product development while ensuring adherence to FIFO and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in making bakery products (bread, cake or pastries).
• Knowledge of food safety and FoodSafe certification required.
• Experience supervising bakery production workflow and controlling cost/waste.
• Ability to train employees and manage shifts.

Responsibilities

• Produce required quantities of bakery products based on orders.
• Monitor quality, inventory levels and wastage.
• Supervise and schedule Bakery Production Assistants.
• Provide training and feedback to staff.
• Assist in new product development and innovations.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Pastry Chef (or his/her delegate), the Bakery Production Supervisor (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) is responsible for supporting the Pastry Chef in providing guidance, supervision and sets as a good example for Bakery Production Assistants to follow. He/she is also responsible for producing the assigned products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) based on orders received, control quality, inventory and wastage.

You Will

• Produce the correct quantity of assigned products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) based on orders received
• Control product (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) quality, inventory level and wastage
• Monitor the mixing of flour, dough, cake mix and other baking ingredients; supervise the baking production processes
• Provide guidance and supervision to Bakery Production Assistants, ensure fair distribution of work and ensure proper scheduling is done
• Provide training to Bakery Production Assistants and provide feedback on staff performance
• Participate in new product research and development process, encourage innovations
• Order and replenish inventory as and when required
• Responsible for the cleanliness, hygiene, equipment and tools maintenance follow up and workplace safety of the production area
• Assist to answer customers' enquiries
• Lead by example by performing duties of Bakery Production Assistants as required
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior
• Manage product food safety and ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department

You Should Have / Be

• Accountable, pleasant and is able to take initiative
• Possess knowledge and prior experience in making bakery products (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries), including dough mixing, cake cutting and decorating…etc
• Possess knowledge in workplace health & safety and food safety (FoodSafe Certification requires)
• Have knowledge and experience in supervising bakery production workflow and controlling cost and wastage
• Ability to manage and train employees
• Ability to deliver bakery product (Bread, Cake &/or other Pastries) research and development
• Good organization, and problem-solving skills
• A good team player
• Flexible to work in various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, holidays, morning and evening hours
• Have a good understanding of tools & equipment relevant to the job
• Possess basic computer skills in MS Office
