Job summary

T&T Supermarket Inc. is seeking a Produce Associate in Vancouver to prepare and stock produce, ensuring freshness and stock levels on display. You will greet customers and assist with selections, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

You must be able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, and lift up to 40 pounds in a cold environment. Prior produce experience is preferred, and safety practices should be followed at all times.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and freshness of produce using FIFO; ensure full display of products.
• Perform regular quality checks and manage shrinkage.
• Prepare produce for sales: sorting, cutting, washing, weighing, packing, labeling and displaying.
• Greet customers with friendly, attentive service.
• Assist customers in product selection and provide recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness of work tools, displays, and storage areas.
• Keep display cases and walk-in coolers clean and organized.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Produce Department Head (or his/her delegates), this position is responsible for preparing various produce products in advance for customers to choose from. The position also requires stocking produce onto the display cases in the sales area, following the FIFO concept, provide good customer service to our customers by fulfilling their requests, and maintaining inventory and workplace cleanliness.

You Will

• Maintain inventory and product freshness by following FIFO concept; ensure the full display of various produce products
• Preform regular quality check, follow procedures to process sub-standard products and manage shrinkage
• Prepare various produce for sales activities, including but not limited to sorting, cutting, washing, weighing, packing and labeling various produce products and displaying them in the display cases
• Greet customers with good customer service, smiles, and friendly enthusiasm
• Assist customers in produce product selection and provide recommendations as required
• Maintain workplace cleanliness by keeping relevant work tools clean and well-kept
• Keep display cases and walk-in coolers clean and tidy

You Should Have / Be

• Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings and statutory holidays
• Be prepared to stand for long periods, handle products hands-on, and lift products of up to 40 pounds on a regular basis; able to use work-related tools in a safe manner.
• Be prepared to work in low-temperature (0-4 ℃) environments regularly
• Not allergic to handling produce products
• Knowledge of basic work safety
• Relevant experience in handling produce products is preferred
