The Work

The Associate Product Manager supports daily operations for the Insurance Lending and Reverse Mortgage businesses, including product evaluation, data analysis, operational enhancements, and project support. They maintain departmental guidelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with strategic and compliance objectives, providing qualitative and quantitative insights to senior management.

The core responsibilities include:

  • Product Development and Expansion:
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, underwriters, and business leads to monitor industry trends and develop expertise in Canadian Insurance Lending and Reverse Mortgage markets.
  • Identify and recommend new products or enhancements, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and lead discovery and market launch activities.
  • Manage projects independently, acting as an owner and project lead when necessary, ensuring regulatory compliance and resource adequacy.
  • Operational Support and Improvements:
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and improvements, lead updates to calculators and tools, and monitor operational concerns for timely adjustments.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis:
  • Manage regular reporting, refine automated reports, identify gaps, and develop new reports to support business decisions.
  • Sales Support and Marketing:
  • Evaluate sales tools, analyze marketing initiatives, and present insights to guide strategies.
  • Strategy Development and Execution:
  • Assist in developing lending and wealth strategies, prepare materials for strategic meetings, and lead projects with internal stakeholders.
  • Underwriting Support:
  • Serve as the main contact for underwriting processes, documentation, and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Math, or related field.
  • 2-5+ years in financial services.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Customer service orientation, initiative, and independence.
