Job summary

Rimrock Banff is seeking an Assistant Bartender to support high-end bar operations with precision and personality. You’ll ensure all bar stations are stocked, prep components are ready, and cocktails are executed to standard in a fast-paced luxury setting.

You will work with a passionate team, uphold cleanliness and safety, and contribute to memorable guest experiences in a historically refined environment. Alberta ProServe is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Alberta ProServe is required.
• Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality support role, preferably in a similar luxury environment.
• Strong interest in cocktails, spirits, and professional beverage service.
• High attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently at a steady pace while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all bar stations fully stocked with spirits, mixers, ice, glassware, and tools.
• Support bartenders during service by anticipating needs and maintaining station readiness.
• Keep workspaces clean, organized, and functional at all times.
• Assist with high-volume service periods with speed, focus, and attention to detail.
• Assist with cocktail ingredient preparation, including juicing, syrups, infusions, garnishes, and pre-prepped components.
• Follow recipes, measurements, and SOPs to ensure consistency and quality.
• Maintain rotation, shelf life awareness, and FIFO for all prepared components.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar stations, prep areas, storage rooms, and equipment.
• Ensure proper storage, rotation, and par level maintenance of all bar inventory.
• Support opening and closing procedures, including setup, breakdown, cleaning, and restocking.

This position ensures all bar stations are immaculately organized, fully stocked, and service-ready while supporting cocktail execution, ingredient preparation, and batching programs. Precision, consistency, and preparation are at the heart of this role.

What You’ll Be Doing

Bar Support & Service Readiness

• Ensure all bar stations are fully stocked with spirits, mixers, ice, glassware, and tools prior to and throughout service.
• Support bartenders during service byanticipatingoperational needs andmaintainingstation readiness.
• Assistwith smooth service flow by keeping workspaces clean, organized, and functionalat all times.
• Support high-volume and high-energy service periods with speed, focus, and attention to detail.

Cocktail Prep & Batching Support

• Assistwith cocktail ingredient preparation, including: juicing, syrup production, infusions, garnishes, and pre-prepped components
• Supporting clarification, fat washing, infusion, and batching prep as directed
• Support the cocktail batching program throughaccuratemeasuring, labeling, dating, and storage of all batched products.
• Follow recipes, measurements, and SOPs precisely to ensure consistency and quality.
• Maintain proper rotation,shelf lifeawareness, and First In, First Out practices for all prepared components.

Cleanliness, Organization & Standards

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar stations, prep areas, storage rooms, and equipment.
• Ensure proper storage, rotation, and par level maintenance of all bar inventory.
• Support opening and closing procedures, including setup, breakdown, cleaning, and restocking.
• Uphold Rimrock’s standards of personal presentation, professionalism, and workplace conduct.

Compliance & Operational Support

• Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations in line with local legislation and brand standards.
• Assistwith safe handling and movement of kegs, cases, and supplies.
• Support bartenders and leadership inmaintainingoperational efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate respectfully with the bar team and other departments to support overall service success.

Physical Demands

Continuous standing and walking throughout service periods. Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 11lbs (5kg); occasionally lifting up to 22lbs (10kg). Ability to work at a steady to fast pace in a high-energy bar environment.
