About The Role

The Aggregates Manager, Okanagan has direct responsibility and accountability for the safety and operational performance of the aggregate operations across the Okanagan region. The Manager plays a key role in driving operational excellence and performance to achieve all production targets, budgets, objectives and goals. In addition, this role is responsible for executing safety policies, commercial sales strategy, performance plans, cost savings, KPI targets and managing equipment fleet.

This Manager is integral in developing the capacity of the organization to increase revenue and organizational capability. This includes coaching and mentoring direct reports and continually promoting a culture of agility, collaboration and empowerment enabling continuous improvement.

What You’ll Accomplish
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environment areas. Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example.
  • Develop and update annual budgets, forecasts, objectives and capital expenditure plans. Develop and implement strategic plans and reviews.
  • Set up short- and long-term plans to ensure the planned growth of the division and remain compatible with all other market forces and competitors.
  • Promotes a culture of performance. Effectively develops goals and objectives to implement actions, track performance and continuously look for opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify areas of CAPEX to increase performance in operations.
  • Financial review of monthly statements; approval of purchasing; work with business unit accountant and staff on accounts receivable; management of working Capital.
  • Sales and Marketing; including the development and maintenance of the customer base; overseeing and directing pricing strategies; maintaining and managing customer relationships; maintaining effective community and government relations.
  • Responsible for production, maintenance and maximum utilization of equipment and personnel.
  • Monitors operational effectiveness through analysis of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Responsible for the development of operational plans.
  • Lead the co‑ordination between Sales, Service, Marketing, Logistics and Operations.
  • Secure reserves in all areas of the province to extend to a minimum of 20 years’ life and thus ensuring the growth can be maintained without undue cost.
  • Establishes the environment as a priority. Ensures all local and provincial and federal regulations are met or exceeded by following Amrize best practices and conditions of site permits.
  • Management of Human Resources including hiring and dismissal; promotion; training & development; negotiate and manage union contracts; maintain and encourage positive relationships between management, employees and the union; promote and foster teamwork; implement, monitor and enforce compliance with company safety and environmental programs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
What We’re Looking For

Education: University Degree, Technical Diploma or equivalent field experience.

Field of Study Preferred: Business or related field.

Required Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of management experience. Minimum of 5 years of field experience.

Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite, SAP, and Google Suite.

Travel Requirements: 10%

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
