Overview
The Agency Network Data Specialist plays a key role in strengthening the Food Banks Mississauga network by building strong relationships with member agencies and ensuring high-quality, meaningful data is collected, maintained, and translated into insights. This position supports agencies in adopting and optimizing Link2Feed data management software, manages routine and time-sensitive reporting needs for internal teams and funders, and leads improvements in data quality, tracking, and reporting processes. The role includes conducting targeted data analysis, supporting research design for organizational surveys and evaluations, and generating metrics and identifying trends. Through a blend of agency relations, data stewardship, and analytical work, this position ensures that accurate, relevant information informs decision-making, program development, and impact reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Agency Relations and Support (20%)
- Manage a caseload of member agencies within the Food Banks Mississauga network.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships through regular communication and support.
- Conduct agency site visits focused on updating agency information or managing concerns.
- Support agencies with complaints, concerns and operational support requests.
- Link2Feed Data Management and Tracking (20%)
- Support and train agencies to improve consistent and accurate use of Link2Feed.
- Monitor and ensure timely, accurate data entry by agencies; Manage a plan to increase agency reporting rates and data quality within the system.
- Identify and promote additional Link2Feed features that benefit agency operations.
- Conduct quarterly reviews for duplicate profile resolution and general data hygiene.
- Develop a framework to assess and improve data quality across the network.
- Network Data Collection and Analysis (30%)
- Enhance client and agency survey tools to ensure stronger alignment with organizational goals.
- Standardize data collection methodologies and sampling strategies.
- Develop consistent practices for analyzing and presenting survey findings, including report writing and presentations to stakeholders and partners.
- Lead the hiring, training, and supervision of summer students and a team of up to 30 volunteers. Translate and synthesize data from Link2Feed, surveys, and evaluations for internal use and external funder reporting.
- Support special projects with mixed-method evaluations for grant reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to arrange agency network site visits to collect and share client stories and qualitative insights. Reviewing qualitative data from story collection, identify key themes, and enhance the organization’s qualitative insights.
- Data Management (25%)
- Respond to ad hoc reporting requests including time-sensitive data needs from internal teams, partners and stakeholders.
- Manage expectations based on request scope and system limitations.
- Anticipate recurring needs by developing standardized reports or templates.
- Create and maintain:
- An end-of-year Link2Feed data summary to support the annual impact report.
- Monthly updates to a metrics tracking spreadsheet for all programs within the Programs team.
- Impact metrics for donor reports and proposals, such as meals provided or households served.
- Custom reports by geographic region or agency to meet funder or partner requirements.
- Historical trends and year-over-year comparisons to demonstrate organizational growth and sustainability.
- Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
- Attend and contribute to agency and internal staff meetings.
- Address complaints or issues raised by agencies or clients as appropriate.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Community Development, Data Science, Nonprofit Management, Sociology, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in:
- Nonprofit sector, ideally in community or agency relations.
- Client data systems (e.g., Link2Feed, Salesforce, or similar platforms).
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Training or facilitating workshops for diverse audiences.
- Experience in mixed-method research (qualitative and quantitative) and program evaluation.
- Strong project management skills and experience coordinating volunteers or student staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across departments and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.

Role Details
Relationships: This position reports to the Director of Programs and Agency Network.
Position Type: Full-time, occasional evening and weekend work required
Compensation: Starting salary of $60,000- $65,000
Environment: This role is based from FBM, located at 4544 Eastgate Parkway, Mississauga ON. This role has a hybrid remote/in-office schedule with a minimum of 2 days/week in the office.
