Responsibilities

ADGA Group is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Aerospace Engineer with a background in the aviation industry who join our team and support a fleet of Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drones) with the Canadian Forces. (Army) This role is part of an existing multi-year DND contract.

  • Directs the review and action airworthiness documentation.
  • Directs the preparation, review and analysis of engineering change proposals, drawings, specifications, technical SOWs, contract demand requests, UCRs, etc.
  • Monitors systems performance including reliability, availability, and maintainability.
  • Plans and directs product improvement of existing and new systems.
  • Monitors, directs, and approves equipment reviews, improvement studies, modifications and miscellaneous projects.
  • Plans, implements, monitors and improves maintenance program and issue special inspections.
  • Reviews hardware and software design change proposals and technical bulletins.
  • Provides technical guidance for test and evaluation of systems.
  • Directs the investigation and analyses of systems failures and approves/recommends corrective action.
  • Provides engineering and technical direction and guidance to Air Staff and units.
  • Participates in systems working groups or transfer of technical information.
  • Makes staff visits to provide technical liaison; and
  • Visits domestic and foreign manufacturing and support facilities.
Qualifications

Must have a background in aviation industry. (in this role they participate in the maintenance of drones/unmanned aerial systems)

  • Proof of Engineering bachelor’s degree in aerospace, software, computer, systems, electronic or a suitable engineering or technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Aerospace Engineer on Military aircraft systems (strong asset, to qualify for Senior level, must have this)
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience within the last 10 years in the preparation of technical airworthiness documents. (i.e., Technical Airworthiness Clearance Plan, Special Purpose Flight Permit, Airworthiness Risk Assessment, Statement of Operational Intent, Engineering Process Manual Supplement (PMS) experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in each of the following assessment areas:
    • Developing briefing notes and presentations to address engineering and technical issues pertaining to equipment.
    • Consulting with stakeholders to support the life-cycle management of equipment.
    • Providing advice, guidance, and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision making of senior management.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience within the last 10 years in aerospace engineering in a minimum of 6 of the following assessment areas:
    • Direct and coordinate the design, manufacture, and testing of aircraft and aerospace products.
    • Evaluate designs to see that products meet engineering principles, customer requirements and environmental regulations.
    • Develop acceptance criteria for design methods, qualify standards, sustainment after delivery and completion dates.
    • Inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to identify sources of problems and workable solutions.
    • Experience in developing modern technologies in aerodynamic fluid flow, structural design, guidance, navigation and control, instrumentation and communication, robotics, and propulsion and combustion.
    • Experience in designing several types of aerospace products such as: commercial and military airplanes and helicopters, remotely piloted aircraft, and rotorcraft spacecraft, including launch vehicles and satellites and military missiles and rockets.
Additional Information
  • Must be eligible or hold an existing Secret level clearance with PSPC/Federal Gov security clearance.
  • Work location - tasks must be performed on client site in Gatineau. Full time 5 days per week.
