In-Office Accounting Technician- Bookkeeper
Location: Georgetown, ON
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 + Benefits, Bonus & Paid Overtime
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday - Friday | In Office

They are currently looking to hire an Experienced Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper to join their in-office team in Georgetown.

What You’ll Be Doing
- This role is not remote work. You will need access to transportation as Halton Hills (Georgetown) does not have a public transit system (Bus).
- This is not a clock-in/clock-out bookkeeping role. Staff are expected to understand that accounting work affects real-world outcomes for clients:
- Filings
- Cash flow
- Compliance
- CRA interactions
- Client peace of mind
- Accounting - You will support clients by performing monthly accounting and reconciliations in a web-based environment (QBO/Xero), processing payroll (Wagepoint), following up with clients, filing GST/HST, etc., and printing custom reports for our clients.
- Professional Judgement - You will use your experience to help process transaction postings, eligibility and answer basic compliance related questions.
- Support - You will quickly learn the systems used on a daily basis to offer high-quality service and support to both our clients and our team.
- Documentation - You will develop, enhance, and review both internal and external documentation so everyone is kept in the loop.
- Future Mentor - There is room to grow in this role. We hope you will want to act as a mentor to new team members and continue to be an integral part of process and workflow improvements
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 4+ years of bookkeeping experience; Professional Accounting and Bookkeeping firm experience preferred
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience required
- Experience with payroll, reconciliations, GST/HST, and CRA communication
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable learning new technology and systems quickly
- Self-motivated with strong accountability and deadline management
Nice to Have:
- Xero, Dext, or Hubdoc experience
- Xero Certification and CPB is not required but is a “nice to have.”
Required:
- Canadian QuickBooks Online Advanced Certification
