Job summary

Lock Search Group is partnering with a Canadian-owned distributor of roofing and exterior building solutions in Peterborough, ON to recruit an Account Manager. The successful candidate will own a territory, grow key accounts, win new business, and drive profitable growth through proactive relationship building with residential roofing customers.

With 5+ years of B2B sales and account management experience, you will prospect, manage a robust pipeline, and deliver tailored roofing solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of B2B sales and account management experience, ideally within building materials, hard goods, construction, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of residential roofing products, systems, accessories, installation considerations, and common contractor requirements.
• Proven ability to prospect, identify new business opportunities, develop a qualified pipeline, and convert opportunities into profitable sales.
• Customer-focused approach with the ability to build credibility, understand customer priorities, and develop lasting business relationships.
• Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to balance revenue growth, margins, service levels, risk, and long-term customer value.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize territory activities, manage multiple accounts and deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
• Clear and effective communicator who collaborates well with customers and internal teams to ensure information is complete, accurate, and timely.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving customer or operational issues, taking ownership and escalating concerns when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a focused strategy to prioritize key accounts, identify growth opportunities, and achieve sales and gross-margin targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective residential roofing customers, serving as a knowledgeable and responsive point of contact.
• Drive new business development through proactive prospecting, referrals, networking, customer visits, and consistent pipeline management.
• Gain a thorough understanding of customer needs, upcoming projects, product requirements, and service expectations to recommend the right roofing systems, accessories, and solutions.
• Prepare accurate, competitive quotations in line with established pricing and margin parameters, securing approvals when required.
• Work closely with Customer Support, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Delivery teams to ensure orders are complete, commitments are realistic, and potential issues are resolved proactively.
• Take ownership of open quotes, orders, customer concerns, returns, and outstanding receivables, escalating issues when necessary to protect customer satisfaction and business results.
• Keep CRM records, sales activities, forecasts, and account information up to date while providing leadership with relevant market, competitor, pricing, product, and customer insights.

JOB SUMMARY
