Job summary

Neelands Group Limited is seeking a Refrigeration Service Apprentice Term 4, 5 or Journeyman to join the Barrie-area team. The role involves repairing, installing, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems while supporting on-call duties during weekdays 7:30am–5:30pm.

The successful candidate will work under the Senior Manager, Service, and collaborate with a skilled technical team, bringing strong problem-solving abilities and customer service experience

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls and scheduled maintenance for refrigeration and mechanical equipment
• Diagnose malfunctions in CO2 racks, condensers, evaporator fans, glycol racks, and expansion tanks
• Troubleshoot to ensure systems function properly after repairs
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance on refrigeration and mechanical equipment
• Communicate updates on assignments to the team and customers
• Assist estimator with information for quotes and recommendations
• Maintain positive relationships with customers/clients
• Maintain service vehicle inventory and cleanliness
• Other duties as required

The Position:

Neelands is searching for a 313A Refrigeration Service Apprentice Term 4, 5 or Journeyman to join our team servicing the Barrie area. This position is regular, full-time.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Service, the Service Technician will work closely with the team on repair, install, troubleshoot and preventative maintenance of refrigeration systems. This role requires the individual to be available during the weekdays from 7:30am – 5:30pm for "on-call" and after-hours service calls from dispatch and/or prescheduled assignments.

Responsibilities:

• Response to service calls and scheduled maintenance and repairs for refrigeration and mechanical equipment
• Perform diagnostics to detect malfunctions and defects in equipment such as CO2 racks, Condensers, Evaporator fans, Glycol Racks, Expansion Tanks
• Troubleshoot to ensure the system is functioning properly following repairs
• Perform schedule and unscheduled repair and maintenance on refrigeration, and mechanical equipment
• Effectively communicate and update all information regarding assignments to the team
• Provide recommendations and assist estimator with information on quote
• Build and maintain positive relationship with customers or clients
• Maintain service vehicle inventory and cleanliness
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• 313A Journeyman
• 313A Apprentice Term 4 or 5
• G2 or G1 Gas Technician Licence required
• Supermarket refrigeration experience is strongly preferred
• Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate
• Valid G license with a clean driver abstract
• English language proficiency (read/write/speak)
