Job summary

Atlantic Equipment Services, a division of Heritage Food Service Group of Canada, is seeking a Refrigeration Technician in the Halifax area. You will repair and maintain refrigeration equipment such as display cases, walk-in coolers and freezers, chillers and ice machines, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

We welcome technicians with or without a G2 license and offer support for future training, plus industry-leading compensation, company vehicle, tools and uniforms.

Qualifications

• Valid Refrigeration and A/C Mechanic CofQ License required.
• Ozone Depleting Substances Certificate required.
• Education in appliance service, or related field preferred.
• Experience as refrigeration technician required.
• Experience diagnosing and trouble-shooting commercial food equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must be available to work overtime and on-call rotation.
• Ability to occasionally travel to other locations or for training.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain refrigeration equipment, including display cases, walk-in coolers and freezers, chillers and ice machines.
• Service hot as well as cold equipment when possible.
• Provide exceptional customer service and professional communication.
• Participate in overtime and on-call rotation as required.

$30 - $50 per hour

A day in the life:

Our qualified Refrigeration Journeymen repair and maintain refrigeration equipment. Typical refrigeration equipment includes display cases, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, chillers, and ice machines. If you can service hot as well as cold commercial food equipment that is a bonus! Typical cooking equipment (gas, steam, and electric) examples: dishwashing equipment, ranges, fryers, steamers, and combi-ovens and more. If you are not currently certified, we will support your future training and educational goals. Your role will use your industry knowledge to service complex equipment, while providing exceptional customer service to our customers - you get to be the HERO every day!

Please note that this is an active opening in the Halifax Area that needs to be filled immediately to support our rapid growth.

What you bring:

• Experience as a refrigeration technician.
• Experience diagnosing and trouble-shooting commercial food equipment.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills, accountable and self-driven.
• Must be available to work overtime and participate in the on-call rotation.
• Able to occasionally travel to work at other locations as needed, or travel for training purposes.
