Job summary

RAFFLES in Bahrain seeks a Hygiene Officer to uphold top food safety hygiene and sanitation standards in line with local regulations, HACCP and Accor standards.

You will conduct inspections, implement training programs, supervise all F&B areas and kitchens, coordinate pest control and waste management, and report any non-compliance to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Hospitality Management, or related field.
• HACCP certification mandatory.
• 2–3 years of experience in luxury hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of local and international food safety standards.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical/problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food safety and hygiene compliance across outlets.
• Implement HACCP principles and train staff.
• Conduct routine hygiene audits in F&B outlets, kitchens, and storage areas.
• Monitor food handling practices and personal hygiene of staff.

Job description

The Hygiene Officer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety hygiene and sanitation in compliance with local regulations HACCP and Accor standards This role involves conducting regular inspections implementing hygiene training programs and supporting all hotel departments in maintaining a safe and hygienic environment for guests and colleagues

Key Responsibilities

• Food Safety amp Hygiene Compliance

• Develop and conduct food safety and hygiene training sessions for all relevant employees

• Keep updated records of training sessions and certifications
• Sanitation amp Pest Control
• Oversee sanitation procedures and cleanliness in all F amp B and kitchen areas
• Liaise with external pest control providers to implement effective pest management
• Ensure proper waste disposal and cleanliness of back-of-house areas
• Incident Management amp Reporting
• Investigate hygiene-related complaints and take corrective action
• Maintain accurate documentation and reports on hygiene inspections

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor s degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 3 years of experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality.
• HACCP certification is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of local and international food safety standards.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
