Job summary

Gender in Manama, Bahrain, seeks a guest-focused waiter/waitress for a five-star hotel outlet. You will ensure service standards, present menus and daily specials, and maintain guest satisfaction through attentive beverage and dining service.

Ideal candidates hold a hospitality qualification, have 1–2 years in a luxury hotel, and can work nights, weekends, and holidays, with strong English and Arabic language skills. The role requires professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct uniform standards are followed at all times.
• Ensure guests experience an enjoyable beverage/dining experience by following outlet service sequence.
• Maintain knowledge of the restaurant menu and daily specials.
• Be familiar with beverage service including stemware and garnishes.
• Anticipate and service guests' requirements at all times.
• Prepare outlet for service per SOP or manager instructions.
• Keep service stations clear and restocked during service.
• Serve and clear food and beverage items professionally.
• Present menus and explanations for all items and specials.
• Identify guest satisfaction and address issues with manager.
• Report accidents or complaints to a manager.
• Check expiration dates and store per HACCP standards.
• Respond properly to hotel emergencies or safety situations.
• Breakdown buffets and stations when needed.
• Attend briefings and training sessions with Operations Manager, F&B.
• Handle cash and card procedures per accounting guidelines.
• Identify problems and ask for assistance before breakdown.
• Perform duties and special projects as required by management.

Job description

• 1. Ensure correct uniform standards are followed at all times.
• 2. Ensure the guests of the outlet experience an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience by following the outlet sequence of service.
• 3. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the restaurant menu & daily specials at all times
• 4. To be familiar with the beverage service including stemware used and appropriates garnishes.
• 5. Anticipate and service of guests' requirements at all times
• 6. Prepare the outlet ready for service according to the outlet standard operating procedure or as per the specific manager s instructions
• 7. Ensure service stations are constantly cleared & re-stocked during service
• 8. Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner
• 9. Present menus and explanations for all menu items as well as specials of the day.
• 10. Ascertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problem, which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved.
• 11. To report all accidents or guest complaint immediately to a manager.
• 12. Ensure expiration dates or perishable items are checked on a daily basis & stored in accordance to HACCP standards
• 13. To respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
• 14. To breakdown any buffets, displays or side stations when needed
• 15. Attend all necessary briefings & training sessions as instructed by the Operations Manager, Food and Beverage
• 16. Handle cash and credit card procedures according to the guidelines of the accounting department
• 17. Identify potential problems and ask for assistance before breakdown occurs
• 18. Perform any duties and special projects as requested by management whether in your own department or any other department in the resort.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Have completed secondary school education
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hospitality related Degree or Diploma
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a waiter/waitress in a five star hotel
• Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Advanced levels of Business English
• Proficiency in a second language such as, Arabic.
• Excellent food & beverage knowledge
• The ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent attention to detail
• Previous experience in Middle east
• Experienced in Fire & Life safety system
