Job summary

RAFFLES Bahrain is seeking a guest-focused waiter/waitress to join our luxury team. You will ensure proper uniform standards, deliver an enjoyable dining experience, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of menus and daily specials.

You will also handle guest needs, assist in outlet preparation, and uphold HACCP and safety procedures. We expect 1–2 years of five-star hotel experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education completed.
• Hospitality-related degree or diploma.
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience as a waiter/waitress in a five-star hotel.
• Advanced level of Business English; proficiency in a second language such as Arabic.
• Excellent food & beverage knowledge.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Previous experience in the Middle East.
• Experience with Fire & Life safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct uniform standards are followed at all times.

• Be familiar with beverage service, stemware, and garnishes.
• Anticipate and service guests' requirements at all times.
• Prepare outlet for service according to SOPs or manager instructions.
• Keep service stations cleared and re-stocked during service.
• Serve and clear food and beverage items professionally.
• Present menus and explain items and specials of the day.
• Assure guest satisfaction and report problems and resolutions to a manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure correct uniform standards are followed at all times
• Ensure the guests of the outlet experience an enjoyable expertly served beverage dining experience by following the outlet sequence of service
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the restaurant menu amp daily specials at all times
• To be familiar with the beverage service including stemware used and appropriates garnishes
• Anticipate and service of guests requirements at all times
• Prepare the outlet ready for service according to the outlet standard operating procedure or as per the specific manager s instructions
• Ensure service stations are constantly cleared amp re-stocked during service
• Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner
• Present menus and explanations for all menu items as well as specials of the day
• Ascertain a guest s satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
• To report all accidents or guest complaint immediately to a manager
• Ensure expiration dates or perishable items are checked on a daily basis amp stored in accordance to HACCP standards
• To respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
• To breakdown any buffets displays or side stations when needed
• Attend all necessary briefings amp training sessions as instructed by the Operations Manager Food and Beverage
• Handle cash and credit card procedures according to the guidelines of the accounting department
• Identify potential problems and ask for assistance before breakdown occurs
• Perform any duties and special projects as requested by management whether in your own department or any other department in the resort
