Bahrain Surf Park is seeking an enthusiastic Commis to join our kitchen team at the Bahrain Surf Park complex, just steps from the beach. You will support the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie in daily food preparation and hygiene, learning in a structured, professional environment.

The role emphasizes basic prep, cleanliness, teamwork, and safe food handling, with opportunities to grow within a dynamic, multicultural team near a premier surf destination.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role; previous kitchen experience is an advantage.
• No formal qualification required; culinary certificate is an advantage.
• Fluent Arabic and English speaker (other languages preferred but not essential).
• Passion for cooking and willing to learn.

OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE

As a Commis , you are an entry-level kitchen team member who supportsthe Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie in daily food preparation andservice.

You will be responsible for assisting in basic food preparation,maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations whiledeveloping your culinary skills in a structured and professional environment.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in basic food preparation and mise en place
• Follow instructions from senior chefs accurately
• Prepare ingredients as directed (washing,chopping, portioning, etc.)
• Always maintain cleanliness of workstations

2 Team Supervision

• Work under the supervision of Demi Chef de Partieand Chef de Partie
• Assist in daily kitchen tasks as assigned
• Support smooth workflow within the section
• Communicate clearly with team members
• Participating in basic training and development

3 Food Safety & Hygiene

• Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and workareas
• Ensure proper food storage and handling practices
• Always follow HACCP standards
• Report any safety or hygiene issues immediately

4 Inventory & Cost Control

• Assist in receiving and storing ingredients
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotationsystem
• Minimize waste through correct handling andpreparation
• Support basic stock organization tasks
• Report damaged or missing items

5 Menu Execution & Development Support

• Assist in preparing dishes according to recipesand standards
• Support plating and basic cooking tasks undersupervision
• Learning menu items and kitchen procedures
• No formalqualification required; culinary certificate is an advantage
• Fluet Arabic and English speaker (other languages preferred but notessential)

Experience

• Entry-level role;previous kitchen or catering experience is an advantage
