HumanInTech in Hasselt is seeking an experienced Test Specialist to lead test automation and quality assurance across complex enterprise projects. You will design strategies and hands‑on test plans, coaching testers and coordinating with business and development teams.

The role involves strong collaboration, a risk‑based testing approach, and weekly travel to multiple locations in Belgium. Dutch proficiency is mandatory, and the assignment starts in November 2026 for one year with possible

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software testing in enterprise environments.

What you will do

You will support a Belgian energy network operator in preparing, coordinating and executing test activities within both projects and agile development teams. Your role focuses on safeguarding test quality, establishing pragmatic test approaches and aligning test activities with business, developers and other stakeholders.

You will take a leading role in professionalising the test function by applying test automation, promoting shift-left testing and strengthening quality assurance across different test levels. You will coach and share knowledge with fellow testers and contribute to an efficient, risk-based test approach within complex application and integration landscapes.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing and maintaining test automation frameworks using programmable tools

What we are looking for

You bring deep expertise in software testing within complex enterprise environments and have a proven track record in test automation. You combine technical skills with strong communication and a hands‑on mentality.

Essential requirements:

• At least 10 years of experience in software testing within complex enterprise environments
• At least 8 years of experience as a test specialist
• Experience with test automation and designing or maintaining test automation frameworks
• Experience with programmable test automation (e.g. TypeScript, WebDriver.IO, Node.js, Cucumber or similar)
• At least 5 years of experience with integration, regression and end‑to‑end testing
• Experience in establishing test strategies, test plans and test approaches for complex application landscapes
• Experience analysing business requirements and translating them into test scenarios and test cases
• Experience with formal test methods and techniques
• Experience coaching or providing content‑driven guidance to testers
• Experience with stakeholder management between business, development and testing
• Experience as a tester in Agile/Scrum projects
• Fluent in Dutch (CEFR level C2)
• Strong communication skills and a hands‑on mentality

Nice to have:

• Experience with CI/CD-integrated test automation
• Experience writing test scenarios
• Previous collaboration with one or more of the proposed candidates in this team request

The setting

This assignment starts on 10 November 2026 and runs for one year, with the possibility of extension.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary test team supporting both projects and agile development teams. The team combines expertise in test coordination, functional and technical testing, quality management, quality engineering and test automation.

Regular (weekly) travel to different locations is required (Hasselt, Brussels, Melle, Mechelen). Remote work is possible in consultation with the team lead.

The working language is Dutch.
