Vivid Resourcing is partnering with a Brussels-based software house to hire an experienced Test Automation Engineer. You will design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks across backend and integration layers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Test Automation Engineer in a software development environment.
• Strong hands-on Java and Spring framework experience.
• Experience writing automated tests with JUnit and Cucumber (BDD).
• Familiarity with testing APIs via RESTful services.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines with developers.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• English fluency; French and/or Dutch a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for backend and integration testing.
• Translate requirements into clear, maintainable BDD test scenarios.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to resolve them.
• Continuously improve test coverage, test data management, and automation frameworks.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall test strategy across projects.
• Support performance, regression, and security testing efforts where required.
• Contribute to a culture of quality across cross-functional, agile teams.

We are working with a large-scale software development organisation based in Brussels, specialising in solutions for the supply chain and security industries.

As the company continues to scale, it is looking to strengthen its quality assurance capabilities with an experienced Test Automation Engineer.

The company is seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks that ensure the reliability and security of complex, large-scale software systems. This person will work closely with developers, QA colleagues, and product owners throughout the software development lifecycle to embed quality and automation best practices into every release.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for backend and integration testing using Java, Spring, JUnit, and Cucumber
• Translate business requirements and user stories into clear, maintainable BDD test scenarios
• Collaborate with developers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to resolve them efficiently
• Continuously improve test coverage, test data management, and automation frameworks
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall test strategy across projects
• Support performance, regression, and security testing efforts where required
• Contribute to a culture of quality across cross-functional, agile teams

Your Profile

• Proven experience as a Test Automation Engineer or similar role in a software development environment
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and the Spring framework
• Solid experience writing automated tests with JUnit and Cucumber (BDD)
• Familiarity with test automation best practices, including maintainable framework design and reusable test components
• Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs and experience testing them
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a strong asset
