Astek Belgium is seeking a Senior Testing Coordinator to lead cross-team testing within a large IoT & platform integration program. You will collaborate with Product Owners, Tech Leads and Test Engineers across multiple streams and actively contribute hands-on testing expertise.

The role requires a strong background in test data management, API testing and test automation, with hands-on use of Playwright, BrowserStack and CI/CD in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software testing and coordination across multiple teams.
• Proven ability to design and implement test data management capabilities.
• Strong hands-on experience with synthetic test data, data seeding and versioned datasets.
• Comfortable writing test data generators, building test harnesses and automating E2E scenarios.
• Strong experience in API and integration testing and E2E validation across backend, web and mobile apps.
• Solid experience with test automation and CI/CD and with tools like Playwright, BrowserStack, REST API testing and Python.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile delivery environments.
• Fluent in English; capable of influencing Product Owners and Tech Leads.

Job Description

For an international company operating in the industrial IoT and connected devices sector, we are looking for a Senior Testing Coordinator to lead cross-team testing activities within a complex digital transformation and platform integration program. The organization is currently integrating a new generation of platform services across multiple delivery streams, including backend services, mobile applications, web applications and identity & access management. The testing organization currently includes several test engineers working across these different streams. The objective of this assignment is to establish a stronger, more structured testing approach and increase the overall testing maturity of the teams. You will work closely with Product Owners, Tech Leads and Test Engineers across multiple teams and will have a strong hands‑on role.

Your challenges will be:

• Build a collaborative testing community across multiple teams.
• Define and own the overall testing strategy.
• Determine which tests should be manual or automated and where they should be executed.
• Establish clear processes for test execution, triage and defect resolution.
• Create and maintain an integrated test calendar aligned with releases and dependencies.
• Establish a clear E2E scenario catalogue, prioritized according to business risk.
• Define test entry/exit criteria and Definition of Ready/Done for testing.
• Establish an effective cross-team defect triage process.

Your game field:

• Test Data Management
• Design and implement a governed, reusable and self‑service test data capability.
• Create a test dataset catalogue with ownership, documentation and versioning.
• Cover different asset types, configurations, licenses, user roles and organizational access rights.
• Define and implement a role and permission test matrix.
• Identify test data requirements and translate them into actionable backlog items.
• Coordinate test data-related activities with Product Owners and development teams. Environments, Devices & Test Coverage
• Define testing strategies for connected physical devices, gateways, controllers and industrial hardware.
• Cover provisioning, commissioning, firmware and configuration variants.
• Establish an effective device test lab and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop approach.
• Determine what should be tested on real hardware, simulated or virtualized.
• Assess simulator coverage and identify gaps requiring physical devices.
• Reduce dependencies on production data for testing critical business scenarios.
• Create clear runbooks so that complex device and commissioning scenarios can be executed by non-specialists. Migration & Data Validation
• Define backward‑compatibility testing approaches during platform and domain migrations.
• Establish dual‑source validation strategies for legacy and target platforms.
• Validate data consistency during migration and transition phases.
• Ensure testing timelines, dependencies and risks are clearly documented and communicated. Testing Maturity & Knowledge Transfer
• Coach Test Engineers and Tech Leads to improve testing maturity.
• Introduce practical improvements directly within the teams' environments.
• Encourage the adoption of relevant AI tools to improve testing efficiency and quality.
• Define and report testing KPIs and metrics.
• Establish a baseline and track progress throughout the assignment.
• Prepare a structured handover and continuation plan for internal teams.

Profile

Must-have

• 10+ years of experience in software testing, including at least 4 years coordinating testing across multiple teams in complex programs.
• Proven experience designing and implementing test data management capabilities.
• Strong hands‑on experience with synthetic test data, data seeding and versioned datasets.
• Comfortable writing test data generators, building test harnesses and automating E2E scenarios.
• Strong experience in API and integration testing.
• Experience with E2E validation across backend, web and mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of business‑flow‑oriented testing.
• Experience testing connected physical devices, including provisioning, commissioning and firmware/configuration variants.
• Solid experience with test automation and CI/CD.
• Experience with tools such as Playwright, BrowserStack, REST API testing and Python.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile delivery environments.
• Strong knowledge of identity and access testing, including OAuth2/OIDC, roles, permissions and multi‑tenant access models.
• Experience validating data across legacy and target platforms during migrations.
• Experience working across multiple Agile teams.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and test management tools such as Xray.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence Product Owners and Tech Leads without direct reporting responsibility.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to work 3 days per week onsite in Belgium. Nice to have
• Experience in IoT, industrial connectivity, telemetry or device-to-cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of time‑series and telemetry data models.
• Experience with device provisioning and commissioning processes.
• Experience with Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop or device‑lab testing.
• Exposure to formal audit and compliance environments such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2.

Professional English and fluency in one of Belgium’s two main national languages: French or Dutch.
