HumanInTech is seeking a senior quality professional to support a Belgian energy operator in professionalising testing and quality operations. You will evaluate the current approach, identify improvements and draft a pragmatic vision for QA, test governance and shift-left testing.

Working with stakeholders, you will coach teams, guide test levels, quality processes and automation, and translate findings into actionable recommendations and an improvement roadmap within an Agile/DevOps context.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a quality coordinator in projects.
• At least 8 years of expert-level experience in Software Quality Assurance, Test Management or Quality Engineering.
• Guiding organisations through quality or test transformations.
• Coaching QA, test or engineering teams.
• At least 8 years of expert-level experience defining test strategies.
• Proven experience developing test strategies.
• Proven experience conducting capability, maturity or quality assessments.
• Strong communication skills and a hands-on mentality.
• Fluent in Dutch (CEFR level C2).

What you will do

You will support a Belgian energy network operator in further professionalising their testing and quality operations. The focus is on evaluating the current approach, identifying improvement opportunities and formulating a pragmatic vision for quality assurance, test governance and shift-left testing.

You will guide assessments and workshops with stakeholders, advise on test levels, quality processes and test automation, and translate findings into concrete recommendations and a feasible improvement roadmap. You will also coach teams and support the evolution towards a Quality Engineering approach within an Agile and DevOps context.

You will work closely with business, IT, suppliers and the existing test organisation to further increase the quality and reliability of software deliveries.

What we are looking for

Essential experience and skills:

• Proven experience as a quality coordinator in projects


• At least 8 years of expert-level experience in Software Quality Assurance, Test Management or Quality Engineering


• Proven experience in guiding organisations through quality or test transformations


• Proven experience coaching QA, test or engineering teams


• At least 8 years of expert-level experience defining test strategies


• Proven experience developing test strategies

• Experience within the energy or utilities sector


• Experience with AI‑assisted analysis, coding and strategy


• Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevSecOps


• Experience with quality management tools (such as Quality Center)


• Previous collaboration with other team members in the proposed team

The setting

This assignment starts in November 2026 and runs for one year, with the possibility of extension.

The role is based in Hasselt, with regular (weekly) travel required to other locations in Belgium including Brussels, Melle and Mechelen. Remote working is possible in consultation with the team lead.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary test team supporting both projects and agile development teams.
