NextLinkis seeks a Test automation engineer to join the team in the Brussels area. The role is a full-time, 12-month renewable contract with start ASAP in the Brussels region of Belgium.

You will work on automation, maintenance, defect handling, and reporting, leveraging OpenText UFT, HP ALM, and Power BI. Collaboration with Testing and IS teams, plus stakeholders, is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of software testing principles.
• ISTQB Foundation certification.
• Experience with OpenText UFT and HP ALM; optimize UFT scripts and manage HP ALM cycles.
• Automated test script maintenance, VBScript, and a data- and keyboard-driven hybrid framework.
• Power BI familiarity and data accuracy practices.
• Clear communication with Testing, IS teams, stakeholders, and management.
• Nice to have: Azure DevOps + VSTS usage (Boards, Epics, features, tests).

Responsabilités

• Create and maintain automated test scripts using OpenText UFT.
• Work with VBScript and a hybrid data- and keyboard-driven framework.
• Keep test assets up-to-date for long-term reliability.
• Identify defects early and drive continuous improvement with clear reporting.
• Perform Power BI related data validation and reporting tasks.

NextLinkis having an existing position as a Test automation engineer

General information:

• Start date: ASAP
• Duration: 12 months renewable
• Workload: full time
• Work location: Brussels area, Belgium

Key responsibilities & required profile are:

• Functional knowledge & understanding about software testing.
  • o ISTQB foundation certification;
• OpenText UFT & HP ALM.
  • o Experience in usage of both tools;
  • o OpenText UFT: Able to optimize existing object repositories & test scripts;
  • o HP ALM: Understanding of usage of Cycles, creating & updating test suites, planning of test script execution,
• Test Automation, Maintenance & Defect Handling
  • o Experience in creation & maintenance of (new and/or existing) automated test scripts through OpenText UFT;
  • o Experience working with VB script & Hybrid Framework (data & keyboard driven);
  • o Keep test assets updated for long-term reliability and reusability;
  • o Analytical and logical mindset: Able to see the difference between script maintenance and a defect;
  • o Detect defects early and drive continuous improvement through clear reporting and follow-up.
• Power BI
  • o Junior experience in usage of Power BI;
  • o Understanding of how reports are structured and generated, as well as how the underlying data is refreshed and maintained to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Soft skills
  • o Able to communicate in a professional, clear, and structured manner with the Testing Team, IS teams, business stakeholders, and management.
  • o Proactively support and continuous improvement of testing activities within IS Life, actively contributing to the governance, coordination, and alignment of testing practices.
• Nice to have:
  • o Experience in usage of Azure DevOps +VSTS and its functionalities. (Board, Epics, features, user stories,test plans, …)

Profile:

• Language: English fluent + French fluent + Dutch fluent
• Minimum 1 year experience
