E‑Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Senior Test Specialist & Functional Test Lead to join a multidisciplinary testing team in Belgium. The role blends hands-on testing with test coordination across projects and Agile teams, ensuring quality and structured testing processes.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, developers and external suppliers, lead functional, integration, acceptance and end-to-end testing, and help drive shift-left and CI/CD testing practices.

Senior Test Specialist & Functional Test Lead

Location: Regular weekly travel to Hasselt, Brussels, Melle and Mechelen

We are looking for a Senior Test Specialist & Functional Test Lead to join a multidisciplinary testing team supporting both projects and Agile development teams.

The role combines hands-on testing with test coordination and leadership responsibilities. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and following up testing activities across different teams and stakeholders, while ensuring the quality and structure of the overall testing process.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, developers, suppliers and other external parties and will take a leading role across functional, integration, acceptance and end-to-end testing.

The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, quality assurance and a shift-left approach.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor testing activities across projects and Agile development teams.
• Act as Test Lead or Test Coordinator within complex testing environments.
• Coordinate functional, integration, acceptance, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Create and maintain test scenarios, test cases and test documentation.
• Manage and follow up test execution, defects, risks and test results.
• Coordinate testing activities between business, analysts, developers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Ensure appropriate test coverage and quality throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Support end-to-end chain testing across multiple applications and organisations.
• Contribute to test strategy, test approach, governance and quality improvement.
• Facilitate workshops, user guidance and knowledge-transfer activities.
• Support continuous improvement of testing processes and ways of working.
• Work within Agile/Scrum environments and collaborate with development and delivery teams.
• Contribute to testing in modern DevOps and CI/CD environments.

Essential requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Specialist.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Coordinator, Test Lead or Lead Tester.
• Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• At least 4 years of experience using test management tools, preferably Jira.
• Strong knowledge of formal testing methods and techniques.
• Proven experience coordinating testing activities across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Experience coordinating functional, integration, acceptance and end-to-end testing.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Hands-on and pragmatic approach.
• Dutch at CEFR C2 level / native-level proficiency.

• Experience within the Belgian energy or utilities sector.
• Experience writing test scenarios and test cases.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and/or modern DevOps principles.
• Experience with Tricentis Tosca.
• Experience with end-to-end testing across multiple organisations or applications.
• Experience facilitating workshops, user guidance and knowledge transfer.
• Experience with test process optimisation and continuous improvement.
• Experience with market platforms and complex integrations.
• Experience managing stakeholders in environments involving multiple external suppliers.
• Previous experience collaborating with other members of a multidisciplinary testing team.

Project environment

You will be part of a multidisciplinary testing team covering test coordination, functional and technical testing, quality management, Quality Engineering and test automation.

The wider team works across functional testing, integration and end-to-end testing, regression testing, release validation, API testing and CI/CD testing. Experience with enterprise test automation and tools such as Tricentis Tosca is also relevant within the wider team.
