HumanInTech in Brussels seeks an experienced telephony Solutions Lead to define and design telephony infrastructure. You will collaborate with infrastructure architects, system designers, and security officers to evolve the platform while ensuring security, scalability, and reliability.

You will also act as the technical reference for telephony projects, maintain day-to-day stability, support incident resolution, and drive continuous improvements across the telephony environment.

What you will do

You will bring your expertise in telephony solutions to both transformation initiatives and daily operations within the IT infrastructure team of a Belgian energy distribution company.

In a project context:

• Define and design telephony infrastructure solutions in close collaboration with infrastructure architects, system designers, system engineers, and security officers
• Contribute to the evolution and modernisation of the telephony platform, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security
• Act as the technical reference for telephony-related projects and decisions

In an operational context:

• Ensure the stability, performance, and continuous availability of telephony services on a day-to-day basis
• Support system engineers during incident resolution, providing expertise for troubleshooting and guiding root cause analysis
• Take ownership of problem management to prevent recurring incidents
• Proactively identify and drive continuous improvements and evolutions of the telephony environment

You will play a key role in maintaining a reliable telephony service while driving its evolution to meet future business and technology needs.

What we are looking for

Must have:

• Minimum 5 years of proven experience with IP telephony
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as solution designer
• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience as technical lead in development projects
• Demonstrable experience coordinating a team in a development project
• Involvement in IP telephony projects within the last 2 years
• Senior-level proven experience in networking routing and switching (IP)
• Proven experience with networking firewall management
• Fluent in either French or Dutch and a very good passive knowledge of the other language
• Fluent in English, both written and oral

Should have:

• Experience in the utility or energy sector
• Demonstrable experience in technical design
• Demonstrable experience in programming tasks: coding, testing, and debugging
• Proven experience with Checkpoint firewalling
• Proven experience with installing and configuring Mitel/Micolab
• Proven experience with installing and configuring Solidus
• Proven experience with voice recording solutions

The setting

This assignment runs from September 2026 to September 2028, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in Brussels with hybrid working (minimum three days on-site per week).

• A laptop is provided.

You will work within the IT Infrastructure unit, specifically in the network, VPN, and telephony squad, which is part of the broader TechOps & Platform teams. These teams provide deep technical expertise and are organised into specialised squads, each focusing on critical technology domains to secure and continuously enhance IT and OT environments.
