Elia Group in Brussels (Emperor, near Central Station) offers a Senior Machine Learning Engineer role for the EL.AI platform, enabling production‑grade AI across the Group. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS, engineering, data science, or related field.
• At least 10 years in AI, cloud or data engineering with 5+ years delivering AI/ML in production.
• Experience designing and operating platforms used across teams.
• Experience as lead engineer or technical lead in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Fluency in English; Dutch/French/German a plus.

Responsabilités

• Shape the technical roadmap of EL.AI by evaluating emerging AI capabilities and translating them into scalable, production‑ready platform features.
• Drive the design, development and evolution of the EL.AI platform with a focus on scalability, reliability, maintainability and operational excellence.
• Develop reusable frameworks, templates, pipelines and reference implementations that accelerate the adoption of AI solutions across the organization.
• Translate architectural principles into concrete implementation patterns and contribute to architectural decisions through feedback.
• Contribute to AI governance by turning implementation experience into actionable standards and guidelines.
• Ensure integration of the platform within the broader AI, data and IT landscape and align with stakeholder teams.
• Conduct technical evaluations, prototypes and POCs to validate new technologies and reduce risks.
• Safeguard technical consistency and reduce debt while promoting engineering excellence.
• Act as a technical reference fostering engineering excellence in software development, MLOps, CI/CD, testing, observability and documentation.
• Support product development and platform adoption through feasibility assessments and onboarding.
