HumanInTech in Antwerp is seeking an experienced Project Lead to deliver ICT projects within a complex public-sector environment. You will oversee end-to-end delivery, focusing on data initiatives, modernisation, reporting, and governance, reporting to the programme manager and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

The role requires 5+ years of leadership, strong public sector experience, and fluency in Dutch (C2).

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience as a project lead in ICT/infrastructure or development projects.
• Experience in complex organisational environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience in the public sector.
• Experience managing external suppliers and integration partners.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. Prince2, PMBoK).
• Knowledge of Cognos.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Purview or data governance projects.
• Experience with steering groups, management reporting and decision-making processes.
• Fluent in Dutch (CEFR level C2).

What you will do

You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of one or more ICT projects within a complex public-sector organisation. The projects focus on data initiatives and modernisation, and you will ensure they are delivered within agreed scope, timing, budget and quality.

Your projects may include:

• Migration and modernisation within the data platform
• Implementation of new digital solutions
• Optimisation of existing applications and processes
• Initiatives around data analysis, reporting and data-driven working

Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing project plans and monitoring scope, planning, budget, risks and dependencies
• Coordinating collaboration between business stakeholders, internal ICT teams and external suppliers
• Facilitating decision-making and escalating in a timely manner where needed
• Providing clear reporting to project and steering groups
• Actively following up on actions, risks and issues
• Supporting the business in making choices and achieving the set objectives
• Working according to established project management methodologies and contributing to the further professionalisation of project work

You will report to the programme manager or client and work with various internal and external stakeholders.

What we are looking for

Essential:

• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience as a project lead in infrastructure or development projects
• Demonstrable experience within complex organisational environments with multiple stakeholders
• Demonstrable experience in the public sector
• Demonstrable experience managing external suppliers and integration partners
• Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrable experience with the terminology, organisation, roles and processes of project management methodologies (e.g. Prince2, PMBoK)
• Demonstrable knowledge of Cognos
• Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Purview or data governance projects
• Experience with steering groups, management reporting and decision-making processes
• Fluent in Dutch (CEFR level C2)

Desirable:

• Demonstrable experience with data, cloud or digitalisation projects
• Demonstrable experience with Jira
• Demonstrable experience with project management techniques and tools (risk management, issue management)
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with ITIL
• Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
• Demonstrable knowledge of MS Project, MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel)
• Demonstrable knowledge of Planner Premium
• Demonstrable knowledge of Power BI

The setting

This assignment runs from early October 2026 to mid-July 2027. The role is full-time and hybrid working is possible. The location is Antwerp.
