HumanInTech is seeking a Technical Data Management Consultant to advance data governance and technical data management capabilities for a Belgian public-sector client.

You will implement metadata, data quality, lineage and governance within the technical environment and work in a multidisciplinary team with internal and external colleagues in a hybrid setup, Brussels-based.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Management Analyst or similar role.
• Strong data architecture, engineering and governance skills.
• Experience with data governance platforms (OpenMetadata).
• Proficiency with SQL and database technologies.
• Knowledge of data quality, platforms and scripting/automation.

What you will do

A Belgian public-sector organisation has started building organisation-wide data excellence capabilities. The goal is to manage data in a structured, transparent and sustainable way, enabling maximum use for operational support, policy-making, reporting, innovation and artificial intelligence. The work includes implementing a data governance framework, defining data domains, introducing roles such as Data Owner and Data Steward, building metadata and data management processes, and strengthening data and AI literacy across the organisation.

As Technical Data Management Consultant, you will support the technical implementation of data management practices. You will ensure that metadata, data quality, lineage and governance information are integrated within the technical data environment.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team with a mix of internal and external colleagues.

The setting

This assignment runs from mid-October 2026 to the end of December 2026, part-time (3/5).

The work is hybrid, with a minimum of two days per week on-site in Brussels. Remote work is permitted from your home address or employer address in Belgium.
