HumanInTech seeks a skilled engineer to coordinate and optimise complex technical processes and projects in the Antwerp region. You will provide expert advice, develop safety guidelines and drive improvements across multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires planning and managing technical projects, strong risk analysis skills, and native Dutch proficiency. Freelance or employee contracts are available, with on-site work in Belgium.

Qualifications

What you will do

You will coordinate, organise and optimise technical processes and projects, provide specialist advice and develop safety guidelines to improve operational efficiency and ensure safety.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Proactively identify optimisation opportunities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to map and initiate improvements and projects


• Apply internal and external lessons learned and best practices in the context of improvements


• Monitor, adjust and optimise process installations


• Prepare technical and operational documents


• Prepare, guide and carry out in-depth and specialised calculations, analyses and research in the context of projects and questions to enable adjustments and innovations


• Design installations and processes


• Develop new models and methodologies


• Draft, verify and adjust various notes, dossiers, studies and working methods


• Develop technical solutions and specifications in the context of projects to meet improvement needs


• Translate technical needs into compliant solutions


• Develop and implement action plans and innovative developments


• Prepare reports and recommendations, gathering the necessary information


• Carry out and participate in risk analyses and establish safety measures in the context of projects, changes and periodic reviews to contribute to the safety of installations and the wider working environment


• Carry out and participate in HAZOP, FMEA, SWIFT, MOC and similar analyses


• Lead, organise and adjust projects, and report on them to deliver work in line with deadlines, budgets, project objectives and quality requirements


• Prepare and monitor project schedules, and monitor and report on project budgets


• Set up consultation structures with various stakeholders and prepare reports


• Coordinate projects from initial to closing phase according to the applicable PMO procedure


• Analyse and provide the necessary project, maintenance and framework contracts in accordance with public procurement law, and act as lead official to ensure compliance with legislation and limit legal risks


• Develop and coordinate the preparation of tender documents, taking into account the correct technical specifications


• Guide and contribute to the award process


• Monitor, evaluate and adjust assignments


• Provide in-depth technical advice and act as an expert within your own area of specialisation to internal and external stakeholders, and monitor realisations to provide technical support and facilitate analyses, projects and work from your own substantive knowledge


• Monitor the maintainability, safety, availability and reliability of technical installations and processes in the long term, both in the context of studies and in the field


• Prepare and monitor the content, correctness and completeness of acceptance criteria and dossiers (including project dossiers, permit dossiers, safety dossiers, construction dossiers, recognition dossiers, maintenance/operation dossiers)


• Design and realise installations according to a total cost of ownership principle and taking into account incident investigations and best practices


• Act as a knowledge carrier for your area of specialisation within the organisation to centralise, standardise, secure and share specific knowledge and information


• Keep your knowledge level current and continuously expand it (participate in conferences and trade fairs, follow standards and legislation), and ensure the securing and sharing of knowledge, for example through training and toolboxes


• Draft and check specifications, standards and processes


• Develop, maintain and contribute to medium-term maintenance and replacement plans within your own area of specialisation, including budgeting

What we are looking for

• Intermediate level in designing and checking technical specifications and standards


• Intermediate level in planning and managing technical projects including budget control


• Intermediate level in technical advice and project management


• Intermediate level in carrying out risk analyses and solving technical problems


• Native or bilingual proficiency in Dutch


• Experience from this year in a similar role

The setting

This assignment runs for four months until the end of December 2026, starting as soon as possible. You will work on-site in the Antwerp Kempen region. The working language is Dutch.
