HumanInTech is seeking an experienced test specialist to support planning, coordination and execution of testing activities for a Belgian energy network operator. The role blends hands-on testing with leadership, ensuring quality across the software delivery lifecycle.

You will lead functional, integration and end-to-end testing, align activities across stakeholders, and coach others to raise testing maturity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a test specialist.
• 5+ years as test lead/coordinator.
• 4+ years creating tests in Jira.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum.
• Experience coordinating test activities across multiple parties.
• Dutch language at CEFR C2 level.

What you will do

You will support the planning, coordination and execution of testing activities within projects and application teams at a Belgian energy network operator. Your role combines hands‑on testing with leadership responsibilities, ensuring quality across the software delivery lifecycle.

Your responsibilities include:

• Leading and coordinating functional, integration, acceptance and end‑to‑end testing activities
• Aligning test activities between business, analysts, developers, suppliers and other stakeholders
• Monitoring the quality of test execution and ensuring structured follow‑up of test results, risks and defects
• Developing tests in a test management tool (preferably Jira)
• Writing test scenarios and applying formal test methods and techniques
• Supporting the professionalisation of the testing function through knowledge sharing, coaching and applying best practices
• Contributing to continuous improvement of test processes and quality assurance
• Facilitating collaboration between all parties involved in software delivery
• Organising workshops and supporting users with knowledge transfer

You will work closely with business, IT, suppliers and the existing test organisation to enhance the quality and reliability of software deliveries. The role is part of a multidisciplinary test team supporting both projects and agile development teams.

What we are looking for

Essential experience and skills:

• At least 5 years of experience as a test specialist
• At least 5 years of experience as test coordinator or lead tester
• At least 4 years of experience developing tests in a test management tool (preferably Jira)
• Experience as a tester in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience with formal test methods and techniques
• Experience coordinating and managing test activities between different parties (business, analysts, developers, suppliers and other stakeholders)
• Experience coordinating functional, integration, acceptance and end‑to‑end testing
• Strong communication skills and a hands‑on mentality
• Fluent Dutch (CEFR level C2)

Valued additional experience:

• Experience in Agile/Scrum projects
• Experience within the Belgian energy and utilities sector
• Experience writing test scenarios
• Experience with Azure DevOps or modern DevOps principles
• Experience with the Tosca test automation tool
• Experience with end‑to‑end chain testing across multiple organisations or applications
• Experience guiding users, organising workshops and knowledge transfer
• Experience with quality improvement and continuous improvement of test processes
• Experience with market platforms and chain integrations
• Stakeholder management experience in complex environments with multiple external parties
• Previous collaboration with one or more of the other proposed candidates in the team

The setting

This assignment starts on 10 November 2026 and runs until 10 November 2027, with the possibility of extension.

You will be based in Limburg, with regular (weekly) travel required to various locations in Hasselt, Brussels, Melle and Mechelen. Remote working is possible in consultation with the team lead.

The working language is Dutch.
