Job summary

Jan De Nul is seeking a Legal Counsel Procurement to own the legal contracts framework within its procurement team in Aalst. You will harmonize contracts, draft templates, identify risks, and provide pragmatic legal support to enable efficient purchasing with proper protection.

You will advise on terms, monitor regulatory changes, and help improve digital contracting processes. The role requires a Master’s in Law and fluency in Dutch, English and French, with strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law required.
• Proven ability to accurately drafting and analysing complex legal documents.
• Fluent in Dutch, English and French, both written and spoken.
• Strong negotiation and advisory skills for procurement contracts.

Responsibilities

• Own the legal contracts framework within Procurement.
• Analyse, review, and harmonize procurement contracts.
• Develop, maintain and simplify contract templates and clauses.
• Provide legal support in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier/subcontractor agreements.
• Advise on general terms, contractual clauses and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and manage contractual risks with relevant stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement to digitize and standardize contracting processes.
