Job summary

Jan De Nul Group is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join its Aalst-based legal team, working across dredging, offshore energy, infrastructure and environmental remediation projects. You will engage in tendering, contract formation, execution, claims and disputes, gaining exposure to commercial, technical and operational aspects.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law is required or highly preferred.
• First professional experience as a lawyer or in-house counsel is an asset but not required.
• Strong analytical and interpretative skills with the ability to translate legal matters into practical advice.
• Excellent written and spoken Dutch, English and French; Spanish is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, draft and review a wide range of contracts (construction, subcontracting, engineering, cooperation and other commercial arrangements).
• Support tender and procurement processes with legal analysis and risk assessment.
• Advise project, tender and procurement teams during preparation and execution of contracts.
• Assist in claims, disputes and cooperation agreements; liaise with external lawyers when needed.
• Monitor and translate regulatory developments into practical implications for the organisation.
• Work across multiple business units to develop a broad legal profile within the group.
