Jan De Nul Group in Aalst is seeking a Legal Counsel Procurement to own the contracts framework within Procurement, harmonize templates, and provide pragmatic legal support to enable the purchasing organization to work efficiently with proper protection.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Law, has solid contract law knowledge, and experience in a corporate or procurement environment. Fluency in Dutch, English and French and strong negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law; corporate/procurement experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of contract law and regulations.
• Skilled in drafting and analyzing complex legal documents and templates.
• Excellent written and spoken Dutch, English, and French.
• Strong negotiation skills and proactive mindset.
• Meticulous with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own the contracts framework and harmonize procurement contracts.
• Develop and simplify contract templates and clauses.
• Identify and manage contractual risks across supplier agreements.
• Provide legal support in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier contracts.
• Advise on general and specific terms and regulatory issues.
• Monitor changes in laws and adjust templates accordingly.
• Develop training for contracting principles and legal points.
• Identify digitization and process improvement opportunities.
