Job summary

HR Pay Solutions seeks a results-driven payments operations professional to oversee end-to-end payment flows and maintain a stable, compliant operation. You will own the Core Banking and payments ecosystem, act as SME on processes and controls, and drive improvements across the organization.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, analytical thinking, and strong collaboration with business, technology, finance and compliance teams, with fluency in Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Engineering, Information Technology, Statistics or equivalent experience.
• Experience in payments, banking operations, treasury, fintech or similar transaction-driven environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, hands-on approach and structured problem-solving.
• Collaborative team player with ability to liaise with business, technology, finance and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor end-to-end payment flows to ensure stable, efficient operation.
• Own the operational performance of Core Banking and payments ecosystem as SME.

Your mission

• Ensure a stable and efficient payment operation by monitoring end-to-end payment flows, overseeing daily payment processing, managing operational risks, and coordinating the resolution of incidents and exceptions to maintain a high level of service quality.
• Take ownership of the operational performance of the Core Banking and payments ecosystem, acting as a subject matter expert for payment processes, systems, controls, and their interdependencies across the broader payment landscape.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues and complex exceptions by analyzing transaction data, payment statuses, reconciliations, and system information, while identifying and implementing structural improvements that enhance reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence by optimizing, standardizing, and documenting processes, controls, and ways of working, helping to reduce operational risk and increase efficiency.
• Support business growth, change initiatives, and system evolution through impact assessments, testing activities, process enhancements, and the implementation of new functionalities, operational capabilities, and system releases.
• Help maintain a controlled, resilient, and compliant operating environment by supporting internal controls, operational reporting, business continuity activities, and regulatory requirements, while proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks.

Your profile

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Engineering, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field, or have built equivalent expertise through experience.
• You have experience in payments, banking operations, treasury, fintech, or a similar transaction-driven environment, and a strong affinity with payment processes, operational controls, and system-driven operations. Experience with Core Banking platforms, payment systems, process improvement, incident management, or testing is a strong asset.
• You combine a strong operational mindset with analytical thinking and a hands-on, structured approach.
• You enjoy solving complex operational challenges, take ownership of outcomes, and maintain oversight across the end-to-end payment lifecycle. In environments where reliability, accuracy, and continuity are critical, you remain calm and solution-oriented, even when dealing with incidents, operational exceptions, or tight deadlines.
• You continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, controls, and ways of working.
• As a collaborative team player, you build strong relationships with colleagues across business, technology, finance, and compliance, as well as with external partners.
• You communicate confidently and effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both in Dutch and English.
