Our client is a boutique consulting firm specializing in payments, banking transformation, and financial services advisory across Belgium and Europe. They seek a Payments Consultant to work with banks, fintechs, and payment institutions on modernisation and regulatory initiatives.

You will engage on SEPA, instant payments, ISO 20022 migrations, Open Banking, PSD2/PSD3, and cross-border payments, while collaborating with senior leaders and clients in a flexible, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• 2–6 years in financial services consulting, banking/payments operations, or fintech.
• Strong understanding of European payments landscape and regulations.
• Knowledge of SEPA, PSD2, ISO 20022, or instant payments frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English; Dutch and/or French is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

The Opportunity

As a Payments Consultant, you will support leading financial institutions, payment service providers, and fintech organizations on strategic and operational initiatives across the payments landscape. Candidate Profile

  • Fintech or payment institutions
• A solid understanding of the European payments landscape and related regulations
• Knowledge of SEPA, PSD2, ISO 20022, or instant payments frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive and client-focused mindset
• Fluency in English; Dutch and/or French would be considered a strong advantage
