Ghent Marriott Hotel is seeking a Front Office Receptionist to warmly welcome guests and ensure a smooth check-in and check-out in an international setting. You will assist guests with requests while representing the brand with professionalism.

Strong English communication is essential; Dutch or French is a plus. Prior hospitality experience is welcome but not required, and a team-oriented mindset is valued.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a warm, professional greeting and ensure smooth check-in and check-out.
• Answer questions, handle guest requests and provide solutions.
• Share local recommendations on Ghent's restaurants, attractions, and activities.
• Recognize returning guests and Marriott Bonvoy members to foster loyalty.
• Suggest room upgrades and additional services to enhance the guest experience.
• Process reservations and payments accurately; maintain guest information in digital systems.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping and F&B to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

As a Front Office Receptionist, you are one of the first people our guests meet and an important point of contact throughout their stay. You enjoy working with people, take pride in delivering excellent service and thrive in an international environment. Previous hotel experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Motivated candidates with a genuine interest in hospitality are more than welcome to apply!

What will you do?

• Welcome our guests: Provide a warm and professional welcome and ensure a smooth check-in and check-out experience.
• Create memorable experiences: Answer questions, handle guest requests and find appropriate solutions whenever needed.
• Be our local expert: Share recommendations on the best restaurants, attractions and activities in Ghent.
• Build guest loyalty: Recognize returning guests and Marriott Bonvoy members, making sure they feel valued through personalized service.
• Spot opportunities: Recommend room upgrades and additional hotel services when they can enhance the guest experience.
• Keep things running smoothly: Process reservations and payments accurately, maintain guest information and work confidently with digital systems.
• Work as one team: Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments, including Housekeeping and Food & Beverage, to deliver the best possible guest experience.

Who are you?

• You have a genuine passion for hospitality and enjoy making guests feel welcome.
• You communicate confidently in English, both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a strong asset.
• You are friendly, professional and comfortable interacting with people from different cultures.
• You remain calm and solution-oriented when things get busy or a guest needs extra assistance.
• You work accurately, take responsibility and pay attention to detail.
• You are flexible, adaptable and a true team player.
• Previous hospitality experience or a degree in Hospitality Management is an advantage, but not a requirement.
