Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Ghent is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager with a hands-on mentality to lead daily operations across Breakfast, Brasserie Stroom, and Scala Meeting & Event Center. You will coach the F&B team, maintain Marriott standards, and ensure guest satisfaction with a focus on quality and teamwork.

The role requires a strong leader who can manage schedules, inventory, and cost controls while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within Food & Beverage or hospitality.
• Fluency or strong capability in Dutch, English and French is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Breakfast, Brasserie Stroom, and Scala Meeting & Event Center, ensuring smooth service and consistent quality across all outlets.
• Lead by example on the floor, supporting the team during busy moments and ensuring every guest enjoys an outstanding experience in line with Marriott brand standards.
• Coach, motivate, and guide the F&B team with hands-on training and a positive, collaborative working environment.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, follow up on feedback, and handle service issues professionally and solution-oriented.
• Safeguard compliance with hygiene, food safety, HACCP, and Marriott operational standards.
• Take the operational lead of the department in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager.
• Support the F&B Manager with staff scheduling, team coordination, inventory management, ordering, and cost control.

Your responsibilities as an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

• You take the operational lead of the department together with and in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager.
• You support the Food & Beverage Manager with staff scheduling, team coordination, inventory management, ordering, and cost control.

Who are we looking for?

• You have at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within Food & Beverage or hospitality.
• You are a natural leader who inspires, motivates, and coaches colleagues while leading by example.
• Hospitality comes naturally to you, and you are passionate about creating memorable guest experiences while maintaining high service standards.
• You have a hands‑on mentality, take initiative, and enjoy being actively involved in daily operations. You remain calm, organized, and solution‑oriented under pressure.
• You have strong communication skills in Dutch, English, and French, and enjoy collaborating with different teams.
• You are comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions, with experience in team scheduling, operational administration, and cost control being an asset. You are flexibly available to work weekends and public holidays.
