Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Ghent is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager with a hands-on mindset and hospitality passion. You will oversee Breakfast, Brasserie Stroom and Scala events, leading the floor and maintaining Marriott standards to create memorable guest experiences.

You will coach the F&B team, manage scheduling, inventory, and costs, and participate in delivering service excellence across multiple outlets. Fluency in Dutch, English, and French is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in Food & Beverage or hospitality.
• Natural leader who motivates and coaches colleagues by example.
• Passion for creating memorable guest experiences while maintaining high service standards.
• Hands-on mentality with initiative and daily operations involvement.
• Strong Dutch, English and French communication; comfortable cross-team collaboration.
• Willingness to work weekends and public holidays; responsibility-taking attitude.

Your responsibilities as an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

• You oversee the daily operations of Breakfast, Brasserie Stroom, and Scala Meeting & Event Center, ensuring smooth service and consistent quality across all outlets.
• You lead by example on the floor, supporting the team during busy moments and ensuring every guest enjoys an outstanding experience in line with Marriott brand standards.
• You coach, motivate, and guide the F&B team, providing hands‑on training and contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.
• You monitor guest satisfaction, follow up on feedback, and handle service issues in a professional and solution‑oriented manner.
• You safeguard compliance with hygiene, food safety, HACCP, and Marriott operational standards.
• You take the operational lead of the department together with and in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager.
• You support the Food & Beverage Manager with staff scheduling, team coordination, inventory management, ordering, and cost control.

Who are we looking for?

• You have at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within Food & Beverage or hospitality.
• You are a natural leader who inspires, motivates, and coaches colleagues while leading by example.
• Hospitality comes naturally to you, and you are passionate about creating memorable guest experiences while maintaining high service standards.
• You have a hands‑on mentality, take initiative, and enjoy being actively involved in daily operations. You remain calm, organized, and solution‑oriented under pressure.
• You have strong communication skills in Dutch, English, and French, and enjoy collaborating with different teams.
• You are comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions, with experience in team scheduling, operational administration, and cost control being an asset. You are flexibly available to work weekends and public holidays.
