Courtyard by Marriott Ghent is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager with a hands-on mentality to lead Breakfast, Brasserie Stroom, and Scala Meeting & Event Center. You will maintain Marriott standards and ensure outstanding guest experiences.

With at least five years in a supervisory F&B role, you coach the team, manage scheduling, inventory, and cost control while upholding hygiene and HACCP guidelines.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial F&B or hospitality role.
• Natural leader who inspires, motivates, and coaches colleagues while leading by example.
• Hospitality mindset with passion for memorable guest experiences and high service standards.
• Hands-on, proactive, calm, organized and solution-oriented under pressure.
• Strong Dutch, English and French communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Breakfast, Brasserie Stroom, and Scala Meeting & Event Center, ensuring smooth service and consistent quality.
• Lead by example on the floor, supporting the team during busy moments and delivering outstanding guest experiences per Marriott standards.
• Coach and guide the F&B team with hands-on training and a collaborative environment.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, follow up on feedback, and handle issues professionally.
• Ensure hygiene, food safety, HACCP, and Marriott standards are followed.
• Take operational lead of the department in absence of the F&B Manager.
• Support scheduling, coordination, inventory management, ordering, and cost control.

Your responsibilities as an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

• You oversee the daily operations of Breakfast, Brasserie Stroom, and Scala Meeting & Event Center, ensuring smooth service and consistent quality across all outlets.
• You lead by example on the floor, supporting the team during busy moments and ensuring every guest enjoys an outstanding experience in line with Marriott brand standards.
• You coach, motivate, and guide the F&B team, providing hands‑on training and contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.
• You monitor guest satisfaction, follow up on feedback, and handle service issues in a professional and solution‑oriented manner.
• You safeguard compliance with hygiene, food safety, HACCP, and Marriott operational standards.
• You take the operational lead of the department together with and in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager.
• You support the Food & Beverage Manager with staff scheduling, team coordination, inventory management, ordering, and cost control.

Who are we looking for?

• You have at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within Food & Beverage or hospitality.
• You are a natural leader who inspires, motivates, and coaches colleagues while leading by example.
• Hospitality comes naturally to you, and you are passionate about creating memorable guest experiences while maintaining high service standards.
• You have a hands‑on mentality, take initiative, and enjoy being actively involved in daily operations. You remain calm, organized, and solution‑oriented under pressure.
• You have strong communication skills in Dutch, English, and French, and enjoy collaborating with different teams.
• You are comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions, with experience in team scheduling, operational administration, and cost control being an asset. You are flexibly available to work weekends and public holidays.
