The European Payments Initiative (EPI) is building Wero, a European digital wallet to simplify cross-border payments. This role focuses on governance, rules drafting, and ensuring compliance with market and regulatory requirements across a growing European ecosystem.

You will lead PSP onboarding, assess risk and AML considerations, and collaborate with member banks and regulators in a remote-first, multicultural environment. Fluency in English is essential, with European language skills a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in payments, scheme management, regulatory affairs, risk management or related function.
• Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law or related field preferred.
• Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.
• Remote-first, multicultural environment.
• Strong knowledge of the European payments landscape and regulations.
• Experience drafting or maintaining rules within a payment scheme or similar environment.

Responsabilités

• Create, review and maintain EPI’s operating rules and regulations by translating market, product and regulatory requirements into clear scheme documentation.
• Collaborate with EPI teams, member banks and stakeholders to evolve the framework.
• Manage onboarding process of new PSP applicants, ensuring completeness and compliance.
• Assess applicant documentation from risk, financial stability and AML perspectives.
• Prepare recommendations for the Membership Management Committee.
• Serve as a primary contact for applicant institutions during onboarding.
• Ensure governance and documentation storage for membership and scheme-related materials.
• Contribute to governance framework improvements supporting EPI’s growth.
