Axis Group is seeking a Senior Legal Assistance Claims Manager in Belgium to lead and coach a claims team, support managers on complex cases, and optimize processes within an insurance environment.

The role requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree, strong Dutch language skills, and proven claims-management experience. You will train staff, ensure compliance, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve service quality.

Senior Legal Assistance Claims Manager is a challenging role for an experienced professional who wants to combine their technical expertise with coaching and mentoring colleagues. You will support the team with complex claims cases, share legal and operational knowledge, and actively contribute to the quality of our services. In addition, you’ll work closely with various internal and external stakeholders and play a key role in further optimizing processes. If you have strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and experience in claims management, you’ll have the opportunity here to provide real added value within a dynamic insurance environment.

• Take charge of certain “complex, sensitive, and/or high-impact” claims cases to provide support to the claims managers.
• Provide guidance and coordinate work; monitor and improve employee performance—through individual coaching when necessary—and maintain discipline within the team to ensure the quality and effectiveness of service delivery.
• Support and assist employees, sharing legal and operational expertise as well as knowledge of the organization with them; train them in the application of the procedures and standards established by the organization so that they can optimally carry out their assigned tasks and assignments.
• Review the financial aspects of the case and validate payments to ensure compliance with coverage limits and oversee the organization’s cost control.
• Actively participate in initiatives undertaken as part of the financial management of claims to help achieve the best results (S/P and COR) for the RB division
• Analyze and interpret the terms of the “Private and Corporate” contracts to support the Product Manager and assist claims adjusters in resolving disputes.
• Communicate proactively and appropriately with the client, the broker, attorneys, or other parties, and handle their complaints to maintain the organization’s positive image.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other entities to build partnerships, exchange information, ensure consistent management policies across teams, and contribute to process improvements.

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• You are a good listener for colleagues and external clients regarding technical questions or problems that are brought to your attention.
• You can quickly analyze a problem.
• You are solution-oriented and highly customer-focused, and you do not shy away from more complex cases.
• You’re comfortable leading training sessions, both internally and externally.
• You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and possess the necessary persuasiveness.
• You enjoy working with colleagues as part of a team and have the necessary organizational skills.
• You are fully up to speed with digital technologies.
• Experience in claims management is required.
• You speak Dutch very well.
