Role purpose:

Own and coordinate one or more business feature areas, ensuring requirements, decisions, impacts, validation and readiness are driven from a clear business perspective.

Role Summary

The Programme is a large-scale retail transformation programme delivering the next generation store and POS landscape across our and affiliated businesses. We are seeking experienced Business Analysts to lead individual business workstreams and feature areas throughout the programme lifecycle.

The successful candidate will act as the primary business representative and coordinator for one or more feature domains, working closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, IT delivery teams, vendors, and programme leadership.

This role combines business analysis, stakeholder management, requirements engineering, solution validation, governance, and change readiness responsibilities.

The Business Analyst will own the end-to-end business coordination of their assigned topic, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, business decisions are obtained, impacts are assessed, and solutions are successfully validated and adopted.

Key Responsibilities
Business Workstream Leadership
  • Act as the business lead and Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for one or more feature areas.
  • Drive business engagement across local, regional, and external stakeholder groups.
  • Coordinate business activities throughout design, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare phases.
  • Ensure business priorities, concerns, and requirements are represented within programme decisions.
Requirements Management
  • Elicit, analyse, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Organise and facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions.
  • Document current-state and future-state business processes.
  • Produce Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), user stories, process flows, use cases, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
  • Ensure requirements are clear, prioritised, traceable, and approved.
Stakeholder Management
  • Build strong relationships across business and IT teams.
  • Coordinate discussions between business owners, product owners, architects, regional teams, vendors, and operational teams.
  • Resolve ambiguity and drive decision-making where business ownership is unclear.
  • Escalate risks, blockers, and unresolved decisions as required.
Solution Design Support
  • Work alongside Solution Architects and Technical Leads to ensure business requirements are correctly understood.
  • Review solution proposals from a business perspective.
  • Challenge designs where business needs are not sufficiently addressed.
  • Assess process, operational, reporting, and support impacts.
  • Track open decisions, actions, dependencies, assumptions, and risks.
  • Prepare materials for governance boards, design authorities, and steering committees.
  • Support roadmap planning and scope management activities.
Testing & Validation
  • Define business acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Support end-to-end business process validation.
  • Ensure defects are triaged and resolved appropriately.
  • Obtain formal business sign-off where required.
Change & Readiness
  • Assess operational impacts of proposed solutions.
  • Identify training, communication, support, and readiness requirements.
  • Support deployment planning and rollout activities.
  • Ensure successful adoption of new processes and capabilities.
Required Experience
  • 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience within large transformation, ERP, digital, retail, supply chain, or business transformation programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading stakeholder workshops.
  • Experience documenting business requirements and business processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable delivery requirements.
Preferred
  • Retail industry experience.
  • Knowledge of POS systems, merchandising, pricing, promotions, loyalty, reporting and analytics, master data, store operations, and supply chain.
  • Experience delivering programmes involving SAP, retail platforms, omnichannel commerce, and data and reporting solutions.
