Job summary

g2 Recruitment is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a Belgium-based Cloud and IT Transformation programme in a 12-month freelance engagement. You will bridge business operations and IT, shaping requirements for cloud migration and system modernisation in a multi-site retail environment.

You will run as-is/to-be mapping, create user stories, and ensure delivery aligns with business value. Strong communication with stakeholders, solution architects, and project managers is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis within IT transformation or complex enterprise projects.
• Proven experience translating business requirements into functional solutions and technical specifications.
• Experience with cloud transformation, cloud migration or modernisation of enterprise IT systems.
• Strong understanding of systems integration, business processes and the relationship between business operations and IT.
• Experience with process modelling, gap analysis, requirements engineering and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

I am supporting a major retail organisation in Belgium as it prepares for a significant Cloud and IT Transformation Programme, focused on improving operational efficiency, modernising IT systems and aligning technology with business needs.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to bridge the gap between business operations and IT, ensuring that transformation initiatives deliver measurable business value and integrate effectively with existing systems.

This is an opportunity to contribute to a long‑term transformation programme within a complex, multi‑site retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, solution architects and project managers to define transformation requirements.
• Analyse existing business processes, IT systems and operational workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Lead as-is/to-be process mapping and assess the impact of cloud migration on business operations and supporting applications.
• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of systems integration, business processes and the relationship between business operations and IT.
• Experience with process modelling, gap analysis, requirements engineering and stakeholder management.
• Familiarity with enterprise applications, IT service management, ERP or other business‑critical systems.
• Experience supporting testing, UAT and implementation activities.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage both business and technical stakeholders.
