Job summary

SEIDOR in Brussels is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team near-site in Brussels. You will analyse business contexts, document requirements, model processes, and translate needs into BRDs and user stories. Collaborative work with stakeholders and technical teams is essential.

The role requires strong BABOK-aligned methodologies, experience with BPMN/UML, and proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, Visio or Lucidchart. EU data regulations experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Communications, Bioengineering, Business Management or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of IT experience.
• Experience in business analysis, requirements engineering and modelling.
• Knowledge of BABOK and IEEE 29148.
• Experience writing user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare BRDs, functional specs and business cases.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Define functional and non-functional requirements.
• Support UAT and test case design.
• Maintain requirements traceability and manage changes.
• Facilitate stakeholder collaboration and present findings.

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team Near-site in Brussels.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

• Analyse business contexts, objectives and stakeholder needs to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
• Gather, validate and document business and functional requirements through stakeholder interviews and workshops.
• Analyse existing business processes, identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
• Model business processes, workflows and system interactions using BPMN, UML or equivalent methodologies.
• Perform gap analyses between current and target business processes and capabilities.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, business cases and other project documentation.
• Identify business and operational risks and propose appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Define and document functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, security and usability.
• Support test case design, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and requirements validation.
• Maintain requirements traceability and manage changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate collaboration between business stakeholders, technical teams and external contractors.
• Prepare clear presentations, diagrams and reports for senior stakeholders.

Requirements

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Communication, Veterinary, Bioengineering, Business Management, Public Administration or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of relevant IT experience.
• Practical experience in business analysis, requirements engineering and business process modelling.
• Knowledge of business analysis methodologies aligned with BABOK and IEEE 29148.
• Experience developing user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, state diagrams and entity relationship models.
• Experience preparing business analysis deliverables and facilitating stakeholder workshops.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to synthesise complex information and present findings clearly to senior stakeholders.

Specific Requirements

• Experience with modelling and diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, UML, BPMN or Camunda Modeler.
• Knowledge of wireframing tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, Pencil or equivalent.
• Experience using Jira or equivalent requirements management tools, including backlog management, epics and user stories.
• Experience collaborating through Confluence, SharePoint or equivalent platforms.
• Ability to create and maintain BRDs, functional specifications, process diagrams and requirements traceability matrices.
• Experience defining acceptance criteria and supporting UAT activities.
• Ability to facilitate workshops, consolidate stakeholder feedback and prioritise business requirements.
• Strong skills in producing presentations, charts, diagrams and visual documentation for senior stakeholders.

Additional Valued Skills

• 3+ years of experience in EU data protection regulations.
• 3+ years of experience with case management systems and document workflow solutions.
• 3+ years of experience using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, RUP, or similar methodologies.
• 3+ years of experience in international/intergovernmental organizations or central public administrations.
• 3+ years of experience in the pharma, healthcare, or agri-food sectors.
