Job summary

Access Health and Community is seeking a warm, youth-friendly Casual Receptionist for headspace Malvern & Hawthorn. You will provide welcoming reception for young people, families and carers accessing mental health and wellbeing services, manage appointments, and support reception operations in a busy community health setting.

The role requires flexibility to work across Malvern and Hawthorn headspace locations with additional cover during leave periods.

Qualifications

Experience delivering reception services in a community health centre, medical practice or mental health service.
Experience using electronic health records systems (desirable: TrakCare, Medical Director, Pracsoft).
Experience with Medicare billing and EFTPOS/HICAPS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software.
Strong administration and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Provide a welcoming, youth-friendly reception for young people and carers visiting headspace services.
Operate switchboard, provide information about Centre services and activities.
Schedule and manage appointments, send SMS reminders.
Process Medicare, HiCAPS, and cash transactions.
Conduct health screening prior to appointments when required.
Handle recalls and reminders for follow-up as directed by GP.
Perform daily opening and closing procedures and maintain tidy service areas.
Assist with mail, faxes, emails and messages; other duties as negotiated.
