Hawkesbury City Council seeks a casual Visitor Information Centre staff member based in Richmond to assist visitors with information and services. The role supports tourism activities and requires flexible hours, including busy periods and leave coverage.

You will engage with the public, stakeholders and customers, delivering accurate information using online and print media. A Certificate III/IV in Tourism and a valid First Aid certificate are preferred.

The Role

Reporting to the Visitor InformationCentre Lead and based in Richmond, this is a casual position, hours of work will vary from week to week and will include covering shifts for periods of leave and coverage in busy periods, as required. The purpose of the position is to assist inthe provision of visitor information to the general public and people of theCity of the Hawkesbury and to support Council’s strategic tourism activities.

About You

You will have experience working in a tourism role and willdemonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with internal andexternal stakeholders and customers. You will be enthusiastic, motivated,approachable and have experience working autonomously in a similar position.

• Certificate III in Tourism or equivalent
• Experience engaging with customers, visitors or stakeholders in tourism, visitor services or customer focused environment.
• Extensive experience in assisting the publicwith their visitor experience
• High level skills in using the internet,online and print media for accurate information gathering
• Understanding of tourism, visitor economy or destination promotion principles or willingness to develop this knowledge
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite
• Proven research and writing skills
• Experience in cash handling and basicreconciliation procedures
• The right to live and work in Australia
• Class C Drivers Licence
• Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingto obtain prior to employment
• Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
• Certificate IV Tourism

• Experience and skills in desktop publishing
• Experience working across multiple locations or in community-based service delivery
