Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Transformation Business Analyst for EVT HQ to drive Lean improvements across operations and support teams in Sydney. You will identify waste, map processes, and partner with Data Engineering to explore automation and AI opportunities.

This role focuses on standardising work and delivering measurable benefits. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Lean/Value Stream mapping experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

• Applied LEAN in an operational setting and drove improvements.
• Proficient in creating current-state and future-state maps and SIPOC/swimlane diagrams.
• Skilled in FMEA and translating findings into actions.
• Able to turn data into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement to influence decisions.
• Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead LEAN improvement projects from diagnosis to implementation and benefits tracking.
• Identify waste, bottlenecks and variation; recommend practical solutions.
• Embed standard work to ensure improvements are repeatable.
• Identify automation/AI opportunities; collaborate with Data Engineering to assess feasibility.
• Create and maintain current-state and future-state maps (SIPOC, swimlanes).
• Develop value stream maps showing value-adding vs non-value-adding activities and lead times.
• Use data, observations and time studies to quantify opportunities.
• Run FMEA to identify risks and track corrective actions with owners.
• Support standards and audit programs by identifying recurring failures and root causes.
• Engage and influence stakeholders from frontline teams to senior leaders.
• Report on project progress and benefits delivered.
