Mackay Adventure Lodge is a modern, social accommodation experience designed for travellers seeking local Mackay experiences. As Tourism Receptionist, you will welcome guests, handle enquiries, manage bookings and assist with itineraries and tours, ensuring a warm and seamless stay.

You’ll be the first point of contact, handling phone calls, emails and in-person inquiries, and you’ll help guests plan their activities while maintaining high service standards across the property.

Qualifications

• Previous reception experience in a hotel, motel or backpacker accommodation - highly advantageous
• Excellent phone manner
• Confidence in sales and converting enquiries into bookings
• Good computer and administration skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritise
• Confidence working independently
• Australian Driver Licence
• Willingness to obtain Driver's Authorisation for company vehicles

• Answer phone, email and online enquiries
• Assist guests throughout their stay
• Provide local tourism information and recommendations
• Resolve guest enquiries and minor issues professionally
• Maintain a welcoming, organised reception environment
• Build rapport with domestic and international travellers
• Manage accommodation reservations and amendments
• Process payments and maintain accurate booking information
• Shuttling guests to the bus stop using company vehicle

Job description

As our Tourism Receptionist, you'll often be the first point of contact for our guests, from their initial phone call or booking enquiry through to check-in and their stay. This role is much more than handing over room keys. You'll help guests plan their time in Mackay, recommend and sell tours and experiences, manage accommodation bookings, assist with enquiries and make sure every guest feels genuinely welcomed. The position is 36 hours per week, with regular rostered hours.
