Qualifications

Our client is a well-established, family-owned electrical distribution business supplying specialised electrical products for harsh environments across the mining, transit, marine, oil and gas, solar and defence industries, servicing customers throughout Australia. As a growing team with an expanding product range, they are now looking to maintain and develop their business interests from South East QLD to Mackay.

About The Opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to service existing accounts from South East QLD to Mackay while identifying growth markets for an existing and expanding product range in harsh industries including mining, transit, marine, oil and gas, solar and defence.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and servicing existing customer accounts across your territory
• Creating and executing a call plan, with regular travel throughout the region
• Identifying opportunities for the existing and expanding product range
• Building solid customer relationships and driving opportunities to a positive outcome
• Uncovering new business opportunities and growth markets
• Reporting against KPI standards on a regular basis
• Utilising and maintaining CRM software

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• 2+ years of sales experience in the surface mining or heavy rail industries, with an emphasis on electric drive systems
• A proven track record in territory management or sales of electrical and/or mining products
• Previous industry or electrical trade experience with Komatsu (GE Invertex) and CAT electric drive systems, which will be looked upon favourably
• The ability to work unsupervised with a “make it happen” attitude and a passion for uncovering new business
• Excellent time management and a high level of professionalism
• Strong communication skills and a team player mindset
• Proficiency with CRM software, Word, Excel and Outlook
