SYC Limited is seeking a proactive Tenancy Advisor to deliver expert advice and support to tenants, helping them understand their tenancy rights and responsibilities to sustain tenancies in South Australia. The role is based at the Kent Town Head Office on a full-time fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027.

You will work with Rent Right SA to prevent tenancy breakdown, conduct assessments, and advocate with services and government departments to access supports.

Qualifications

• Experience in tenancy support, housing services, community services, or related field.
• Knowledge of the SA housing sector, tenancy, and housing legal rights/responsibilities.
• Ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and interact effectively with target cohorts, landlords and other service providers.
• Experience in engaging and working with people who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness.
• Strong communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Time management and organisation skills, able to work both independently and as an effective team member, to plan and achieve outcomes and meet deadlines and KPIs.

Responsabilités

• Work with individuals and families renting in public, community, or private sector to prevent tenancy breakdown and homelessness.
• Provide support, information, coaching, and advocacy to help clients understand their rights and responsibilities under their tenancy agreements.
• Conduct targeted financial, tenancy and risk/vulnerability assessments of clients to establish their housing needs and goals.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness and understanding of the role and scope of SYC’s Tenancy Services and its target cohorts.
• Assist clients to advocate with relevant services, utility providers, housing providers and Government departments, to access services and supports.
