Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking a Tenancy Support Coordinator in Darwin to help individuals and families sustain tenancies and reduce homelessness risk. You will deliver person-centred, strengths-based case management, with on-site work and home visits to support clients in their own environments.

You will partner with housing providers, community services and support services, developing tailored plans to improve wellbeing, independence and housing outcomes for clients facing complex challenges.

Qualifications

• Degree in Community Services with relevant experience or Diploma in Community Services with relevant experience.
• Experience in housing, homelessness, tenancy support or related community services with case management.
• Understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and factors leading to homelessness.
• Ability to build rapport and engage vulnerable clients across multiple barriers.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills; ability to work collaboratively across services.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and maintain records.
• Cultural competency with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; First Aid is desirable; full driver licence; police checks required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to referrals and complete intake, assessment and case management for tenancy support.
• Develop tailored support plans to build tenancy skills and housing stability.
• Conduct regular home and community visits to monitor progress and risks.
• Explain rights and responsibilities under tenancy agreements.
• Link clients to internal and external services to meet goals.
• Maintain accurate case files and prepare monthly reports on outcomes.
• Collaborate with housing providers and community agencies to support tenancy sustainment.
