SMAART Recruitment is partnering with one of Australia’s leading insurance organisations to recruit an experienced Desktop Home Assessing Team Leader to join their Sunshine operation.

Reporting to the Building and Assessing Manager, you’ll lead a team of 8 Desktop Home Assessors responsible for virtual property assessments, repair scopes, cost validation and claims management, in a permanent, full-time, in-office Melbourne role.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in home assessing, building or construction.
• Experience leading, coaching and managing a team.
• Strong understanding of building repairs, scopes of work and estimating.
• Insurance or property claims experience is highly regarded.

• Lead, coach and develop a team of 8 Desktop Home Assessors.
• Provide technical guidance across building assessments, estimating, scopes of work and cost validation.
• Monitor team performance, productivity and quality standards.
• Manage complex claims, escalations and technical challenges.

About you:

We’re looking for a confident, approachable leader who combines strong people management skills with practical building or home assessing knowledge.

• Proven TL experience leading, coaching and managing a team.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in home assessing, building or construction.
• Strong understanding of building repairs, scopes of work and estimating.
• Previous insurance or property claims experience will be highly regarded.
• Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve complex issues.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a genuine passion for developing people.
